Drive Shaft question from complete RC Beginner

    Hello everyone,

I've ran into a problem with my 2wd Rustler. On the same day that I upgraded to the Velineon brushless motor, I managed to break 1 of the rear drive shafts. Can anyone recommend a good upgrade replacement that'll take more punishment than the stock drive shafts? I'm not sure what you call the part that broke so I have included a screenshot.

    Thanks

Get the slash 4x4 rear stock ones. They are beefier then your stock ones.

Like Blown94 says the Slash shafts fit right in. Part no 6582x

I also upgraded to 32p gearing as the 48p kept on stripping.

Sorry I'm late to the show. Use the Rustler 4x4 or slash 4x4 driveshafts. I broke the same part and replaced with this. Works beautifully.

Those Slash 4x4 shafts are the way to go for sure.

On 2S though, I’ve never managed to break one of the stock driveshafts with a Velineon or Castle 3800.

I suspect your slipper clutch might be screwed down a bit too much and not limiting any torque. You might want to check that before dropping in your new driveshafts.
Pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the RC car

I’ve ran MIP’s CVD shafts on my Rustlers (from bashing to high high speed runs) and they’ve always performed exceptionally well—-and have a great look on the truck too

Another vote for the 4x4 rear shafts. I run these on my vehicles on 3S with no bending or warping or anything. They take the abuse very well
