    Servo upgrade.

I'm upgrading my servo in my Xmaxx, as I have done in my previous two. I'm not sure what servo yet, but it will probably be a normal sized one.

It was a while ago since I did this, but I used these parts

    bought:
    A Servo
    A Servo Horn
    Traxxas Servo Adapter #7749
    A GPM Turnbuckle
RC4WD Rod Ends as they were bigger.

I'm struggling to find the Turnbuckle I stock anywhere :

IS there a better alternative now?

    Thanks

Im not too worried about the actual servo, I can sort that, but what about the linkage?

Does it not need to be adjustable

The stock plastic is not, the one that comes with the 2085X is, a destroyed that in short order. This one has had a couple nasty crashes. Works great. Servo horn is now my weak spot. I just stock up on the 4 dollar part.

I'll look into the 2085x drop in replacement servo, its around $140 use in the UK, so was hoping to go with a 1/8th scale version but the 2085x might be a better idea

I've added up what Ive spent and what I'd sold recently (Sold a few of my Shelfers to fund the X) and Id actually spent a lot less than expected so ordered the 2085x

Is the 2085 x servo still the servo to go with? Iíve been seeing some bad reviews on it. A lot of good ones but just checking before I make a dumb choice.

I went with the 2085x as it was easiest and available the next day from a UK website. Its been great so far. My only issue is that should be included as stock on a £1000 rc

It's noticeably better than the stock 2085, I was reasonably impressed with it. I have some 450+oz servos in a few of my 8th scale trucks that are better comparatively. For the Xmaxx you'd be talking in the 650 range like a protek btl370 or a savox 2290sg. Double the price, but alot more torque.
