GTR Shocks on Rustler VXL 2wd

I was out at my local track the other day and totally bent up one of my rear shocks, and I wanted to upgrade at all 4 corners. I've read that GTR shocks will fit, with a slight bit of adjustment. I think the following is correct, but please let me know if I'm being really stupid! I don't want to splash the cash and end up with dud shocks that don't fit.

Long shocks for front (part 7461X)
    XX Long for rear (7462X)
Hex screws as the original ones have a collar? (2579)

The ball joint at the bottom of the front shocks doesn't fit into the A arms, so i'll need to pop it out and replace it with the ball in the old shocks?

And buy springs, but I guess that's for another thread?

This is my first post, so any feedback about forum etiquette is appreciated

I just picked up a set from eBay complete with springs although they will most likely be too stiff. Following for spring recommendations!

    Part numbers are right

Fit and finish is perfect. My spring choice is for a speed runner.

Wow that's hardly recognisable as a Rustler!

I got an email form the Traxxas support and they confirmed they fit, just need to change the lower pivot ball on the front shocks, and a slight bit of body trimming at the front and they should be good.

Only part you really should keep from the base model...
