    The Worst Part

Hello guys now we all love our vehicles here, but, there is always one thing we dread doing to them

Whether it be repairing that darn diff,or having to try oh so hard to start your t-maxx

What is the part you despise most about your traxxas RC vehicles

Hearing that stinking "clicking noise" and realizing I have to open it up again for the fifth time that day. Or forgetting to storage charge my batteries.

Nitro RC: After run maintenance (remove unused fuel)
Electric RC: Waiting for batteries to charge.
Repair and mod of either I actually enjoy.

I love wrenching on my trucks, to me that is half the fun. But, I would pay someone to rebuild shocks for me, hate that part.

^^Let's make it at least 8 hours now that the rustler vxl is down too.

I had too much fun in the skatepark yesterday but I don't think this damage really happened until I was doing hi speed runs (lots of too much throttle too quick and she did some hard rear wheel shimmies at speed) then finished off with the wheelie bar up doing 30+ mph long wheelies and the wind or power flipped me right on to my back for a slide.

Snapped the screw on my strc tower

stub axle carrier pin screw worked it's way out and new traxxas metal rear axle snapped. I know they sell little rebuild kits for these with the pins and boots, I hope they also sell just that last end bit with the shaft. Pretty nuts that the wheel nut and broken axle shaft was still in the road rage wheel cuz I drove it quite a a bit after the last wreck to walk back home.

Yep, stock tower mount is going back on. There is a reason some of these OEM plastic bits should stay plastic. The front STRC alum shock tower I have on it at least uses the OEM plastic body mount which has some give unlike the rear. A few tumbles at speed on pavement and my orig body was eaten thru from the top corners of the rear shock tower. I think I will order one of the RPM plastic ones as I can't seem to find them on my LHS's site.

Ha, I just painted my first one the other day. Thankfully no cutting this time since I went with the traxxas stock part. I have shaky hands so putting the stickers on was no fun. My front windshield looks like it has a crack in it.

Its not much different than the p4de. I dont have much trouble puttin the front diff in myself.

As for plastic over aluminum... I kept the stock arms, but went with atomik c-hubs n knuckles. Aluminum driveshafts over plastic as well.

I love tinkerin on my rigs. Idk if theres really anything i dont like bout my rcs lol.

First off great thread. I love wrenching on my trucks, upgrading them. I don't even mind cleaning them and putting them away. The thing I hate more than anything is cutting out a new body. Drives me crazy. Seems like it takes forever, cutting, sanding, etc. I dont mind taking the time to paint them, kind of like that part.

I hated replacing the spur gear for the old slipper design with the pegs. Was a drawn out pain to do, especially in a hurry.

Iíll add another one: rebuilding shocks. Did all four on one of my cars this afternoon and it was more messy than anything.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm going to attempt that such thing soon once I pick out a body. Wish me luck

Also too add another thing i'm not a fan of is cleaning anything wet, mud, water, snow etc. I really don't mind shock reoiling or maintenance I love the rebuilding part of the hobby.

I'd love wrenching on some of the rig you guys have made

I just experienced a new one: forgetting to turn off the Tx at the end of a a run (last evening). Walked downstairs just now to see the power light on the Tx blinking red at me.

The worst part is when your wife sees a receipt slide out of a box full of parts.....

Oh yeah so true. I told they guys at the lhs if my wife comes in for any reason and asks how much I spend to lie to her face.
