    New Xmaxx

    Hi, just got new xmaxx for son. On 6s, 8s on the way. Within the first five runs there is a ring hanging on the axle inside of back tire. I just pushed it back in. Whatnis proper fix?

    Can/should I crc 656 /wd40 the xmaxx? Thanks

    Thatís your rear hub bear thatís failed already. Purchase and install the rpm rear carrier hubs and donít look back. They have over sized one net bearings that last longer you reuse the front bearing.

    Yes unfortunately thatís one of the most common problems with the x maxx. I broke mine after wreaking over a high wall. I change mine then which at the time only had like 2 or 3 runs on it. Know just over a year and a half I have to put a esc in her.

    Or fix it by putting the after market rear carriers on.

    Agreed, but Id definitely be speaking to Traxxas regarding how prematurely this happened.

    Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the help. Definitely disappointed to already be having issues with so little run time in basic grass driving. The truck is awesome but at its price point I expected some durability. I havent even run it 8s yet.

    Speak to Traxxas, they seem much more supportive of issues if youre in the US. The upgraded RPM part with a larger bearing is available for around $25 and is a great upgrade but I do get your frustrations

    Ironically, I was fitting some RPM Rear Hubs to my Xmaxx this morning, so took a snap of how much bigger the RPM rear bearing is in the hub

    ]

    Obviously the larger one is the RPM one, smaller is stock.

    There's reasons why. Importers purchase from Traxxas and then distribute to their customers. When the manufacturer and consumer both reside in the great U.S. of A. it is certainly easier. Add in a couple more layers (of people buying/selling; laws, etc) to make it international and it is much more difficult.

    Mine did the same thing. It is just the seal for the bearing fell out. You can take the bearing out of the hub and flip it around so bad seal side is inside of the hub to get you going. I just replaced both inner bearings on rear hubs with cheap ones from local hobby shop and haven't had a problem.

    I get this one Olite bushing from England, and I've also gotten things directly from Japan, China and so forth. I know (when I order from overseas) it's going to take a while for me to get my part. Sometimes it has taken several months. That's just the way it is. A person can't change what they don't control. The only way you can beat the international system of doing business is by keeping a good inventory of parts on hand. I do that anyway, but especially with parts that I can only get from overseas.

    You need the RPM carriers for them to fit.

    Good point. I made an assumption that was known, looking back it may not be for everyone
