Spare parts build becoming my favorite Rustler...

I’ve built 2 speed run Rustlers, and after some inventory work I realized I was only electronics-away from another—-but I wanted one to bash...

Got a great deal on a Castle SW4/3800 combo and I was off to the races!

Traxxas blue steering hubs, with Hot Racing aluminum blocks and 12mm hubs

Traxxas Big Bore Shock set, RPM A-arms, bulkhead and shock tower. Lipo Lock steel weighted bumper (14oz).
Traxxas aluminum bellcrank gliding with Fast Eddys bearings on a Savox Servo

RPM rear shock tower and A-arms, Integy gearbox (puke), Traxxas blue rear hubs and Traxxas steel CV shafts. T-bone wheelie bar

Hot Racing super slipper clutch and gears (currently 36/73 on now with motor temps capping at 140 after 10min of rough use on 3s)

Pro Line Dirt Hawg shoes and a J-Concepts body

Body turned out better on round 2—-I’d put on all the decals before taking off the protective film (I enjoy several Oat Sodas when I work on RCs)

This little baby turned out pretty well I think, and it will absolutely haul the mail!!!!

I love it. How do you like the tires. I’ve almost got them so many times. You’ve inspired me. I’m only missing a couple pieces as well. Thinking bandit wide basher.

I wanna build a bandit (eventually).....the Dirt Hawgs have been great—-they’re perfect on gravel/dirt/hardpack, and grip enough on road to wheelie on-demand

Drove me nuts that I couldn’t find a black upper chassis....gotta order one, can’t have them not matching

Were the tires pizza cutters at that speed?

50/50.....not as bad as I thought they would be, but it wasn’t quite 100% throttle

Broke 70 today.......70.7 to be exact

Ran 3-4 more passes and couldn’t top that number, so moving from 36/73 to 40/73 (pinion on its way)

Good news is yesterday I made probably 14 wide open passes back to back, and motor temp was 160——should be able to gear up nicely and 1-3 passes motor temp will be fine!

    80mph here we come...

Can’t believe the thing stayed on the road with those tires. Suspension geometry must be spot on to stay straight!

Looking good! With that esc, do you supply your own battery connectors?

    Near-mint at the worst!

70mph + tree = bad day for the battery

Luckily the steel front bumper absorbed majority of a serious smash—-battery was the only fatality

Just finished painting a new body for the Rustler today. Also picked up a 43t pinion and a motor fan——gearing now at 43/73 in the quest to max out 3s on 48p gears

Also swapped out TRX battery connectors for 6.5mm Castle

40/73 got me 78mph on this setup, and was ready to see 80 today when the rain fell.....tomorrow after work, 80 is happening....
