Xmaxx v2.0 Mod 1.5 spur and pinion.

So.. after many, MANY 54t (4 pcs), 50t (1pcs), 48t(2 pcs) spurs and 18t (lost count) pinions later.

    Im frustrated.

Guys, please help. Truck is great. i bash it alot and i love it, it takes it all but spur and pinion are not cooperating with me.

xmaxx v2, hw max6 esc, 70c constant batteries, else is stock.

Any advice on 1.5 mod on xmaxx ? stock motor still runs great so 5mm shaft is still good.

Gearing should be same as 18/54, can be 18/50 also.

Anyone here have done this ?

Where should i turn to get one set ?

    Thank you.

You need to ditch the pin system, and learn to set the mesh manually. You can use 1.5 if you’d like to, but you don’t need to.

I agree with Grip. There is something else going on. Not blaming you, but most people ditch the pin system and don't have problems if they properly set the mesh without them. I run plastic spurs on stuff running 6s for months, set the mesh bad one time and the spur pulled a Nicholas Cage and was Gone in 60 seconds. It's all about mesh. Mod 1.5 is overkill for that setup and you can still screw mod 1.5 up with bad mesh. GDS makes good mod 1 gears. Looking back that's what I would of went with. Fastlane Hobbies has good gear selection and if you do Facebook B and M racing makes awesome mod 1.5 gears. They are 80$ for a spur and pinion.

6s xmaxx since 1st shipment, now 8s harded drive train.still original 18 pinion,54 plastic spur, made a thin shim to put under mounts an using pins that way. Other wise gear mesh way tight.(vehicles should coust well in neutral).

Badlands and a conservative gps number is 61 mph. That was in the hood. So, no all out runs. It does quite well.

Okey. i got my point. i bash it way too hard then. E-Revo 2.0 altho takes it all.. only regular maintance and good to go.

That's why i thought that spur and pinions are weak spot.

On e-revo i took guide pins out and shimmed it using paper. Still good.
On xmaxx .. whatever i do.. it keeps destroying itself.

That made me wonder.. what do i really need ?

GDS hardened steel mod 1 .. okei, are there any suggestions on pinions ?

I love gear ratio 18/54 but IF IT HOLDS it can be 18/50 also but not any faster. That thing is a beast with max6 and on 70c 8S

Cannot compare to original 25c batteries and original esc.

    Thank you.

Bad mesh is why the gears break.
