Mini Revo VXL - Stripped Servo Gears - Replace gears with metal ones?

Or get a whole new servo with metal gears?

Metal all the way. Not sure if they offer a gear upgrade to metal. Or if have to swap servos. But going to metal gears will help.

I got my Merv used already had a savox mg on it.

I was wondering if the 2080X (metal gear version for MERV) servo gears fit in the 2080 servo as a replacement.

It's $18 for the gears and $44 for the whole servo.

I believe that the x model servo would have a stronger motor there for it would be better to get the 2080x instead of replacement gears for the x model

    Correct me if Im wrong

In looking some online. It looks like the 2080x gears should fit into the servo.

I'd go for swapping gears. If issues after perhaps try a savox. Sw-0250mg. Has 69.0 oz tourque

I feel like the 2080 is plenty strong... it's just the gears that are terrible!

Huh the savox is only $11 more than the gears... which I'm not even 100% sure will fit....

Does that Savox have the reverse steering issue?

    Thanks!

I've had no issues with the savox. It was a easy direct plug n play for me.

Something you could also do that could work in the mean time is if gears are stripped only in one area can rotate gear 180 put back in and it may work fine on the good teeth. But just depends on what gear is bad and where.
