    Xmaxx 8s upgrades

Hi everyone I was wondering what the best upgrades are for the xmaxx. Below is a list of parts I am wondering about. Keep in mind my style of driving is high flying fun.
    Are shock socks needed?
    What are good shock upgrades?
    What is the best servo?
What is the best body for high flying fun and general bashing?
    What are the best tires?
Is a dusty motor cover needed?
Should I soak the current a-arms in wd-40 or upgrade to rpm?
Do I need rpm oversized carriers?
Sorry about all the questions I know I sound like a noob but I am actually not I just got the upgrade bug and was wondering what I should do.

    Xmaxx 8s upgrades

I use bike inner tubes as shock covers

There are not too many shock upgrades but there are aluminum spring retainers and caps and heavier oils

There is a traxxas 2085x but the other option is getting the adapter to a 1/10 servo 2075 size and running a savox servo etc it is worth upgrading the steering bellcrank and toe links

The best body is not allowed to be mentioned on the forum but look up best x-Maxx body on google
The video is by Kevin Talbot

Best tires are from proline duratrax Louise rc or mad max

No dusty motors covers for me

I have rpm a arms and really like them

I also think over sized carriers are a major yes

I have UE shock shafts, GDS perches. The Proline Brute body is awesome. I run a Savox SB2290. GDS bellcrank and steering brace. Traxxas aluminum toe links. Yes you need RPM rear hubs.

    Somehow builds are never done....

I'm pretty new to the Xmaxx, here is what I did.

Pro line oversized rear hubs(same bigger bearing as rpm)
Soaked all my a arms in a tub of wd 40 for 48 hours

Upgraded the servo, I went with a 2085x because I wanted it that day. When it goes I'll be going to the savox that Grip has.

I run 60wt upfront, 70wt in the rear for shock oil and the heaviest springs traxxas makes.

I did the rpm front and rear bumper supports

The single best upgrade in my opinion is tires. I went with the proline mx43 and they literally changed my life. I put a max 5 and a big motor in mine while I was pretty green still and I couldn't manage the power. Got the proline tires on some forum members recommendations and it totally changed the truck.

I run the proline bash armour body and its held up well.

I found the Xmaxx to be like all my other RCs, tires and dialing in the shocks were the two biggest things.

Hello again I was wondering if some of you guys could possibly post a picture of your truck if it's heavily upgraded?

Thank you do you prefer the street to the stock tires?
Also is changing the esc and motor worth it?
Can I get those a-arms in black?

The tires work great I have achieved speeds of same to more than the stock tires on the same roads

If you feel ready for the power you can go for it I suggest these options
    Motor
    Hobbywing 56113
    Hobby star 56112
    Esc
    Hobbywing max6
    Hobbywing max5
Motor mount esc plate and pulley or gears
“X-maxx specialty mild to wild” on Facebook the name will be changing to w.f.o rc

Yes the rpm a arms are available in black

In my opinion, the truck is really good stock. Only 'required" upgrade I would say is the rear hubs.

If you want some more speed, gear the thing up. Don't use the motor pins for setting the gear mesh or you'll break gears. I like to be able to take large jumps, so I have stiffer springs.

If somethings breaks, that would be the best time to consider upgrading that part. Otherwise just enjoy the truck as is.
