Slash 4x4 1/8 scale motor mount

Hi guys anybody have an idea on what the easiest way would be to mount a 1/8 scale motor in a Slash 4x4 so I can run a big pinion for speed runs? Iíve been searching for hours and Iím having trouble finding something that will work. Or is there a way to use a 1/10 scale motor and a 6s esc to run a big pinion for speed? Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome to the Traxxas forums!

Most just go here for center motor mounts:

Cool. I was looking at a mamba x and 1515 motor combo but that motor is 75.4x40mm.

Did you need to grind the chassis down to make it fit?
I’m also looking at a Castle 1415 motor which is 36mm so that would fit but finding one is the problem.

The stock LCG sl4sh and r4stler chassis motor mount can fit some surprisingly big motors, I know I was able to put the UDR 2200kv motor on the stock mounting plate. How long would it last without upgrading to aluminum motor mount? Who knows. But you are then constrained to size of pinion you can use.

That being said another option for overhead mounting is factory works. I use two of their R4stler versions and they make a Sl4sh specific version. Check ebay under ďfactory works slash motor mountĒ.

Welcome to the forum and the addiction! You are among a group of people who share the love of the Traxxas Slash 4x4! If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Remember we are here to help!

In my opinion the King Headz motor mount is the absolute best! It is a direct drop in and there are no hassles with bearing replacement. I have had them for several years and if I get another Slash 4x4 Ultimate edition it will get a King Headz motor mount
