What's The Largest Motor The Stock Mounts Can Support

    Hi Everyone,

Playing around with speed runs, and noticing some very high motor temps due to aggressive gearing / with 4S lipo, on the existing Castle 2400KV / Mamba X combo.

From your experience, what is the largest 1/8th motor, that I can install, without modifying the motor mount? Would ideally like something 6S capable, to better manage heat, even though I'm not likely to actually go 6s.

Currently running MOD1 pinion and gearing (21T/38T). I fully understand that a larger motor, with reduced KV will drop the speed etc.

    Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks.

Do yo have the HCG or LCG chassis?

I know the LCG chassis can take a 2200kv motor for the UDR, but the pinion choice will be limited due to the wider can that restricts movement.

Sorry, should have mentioned it's a LCG chassis. With that in mind, do you think my current MOD1 setup of 22/38 would still fit?

Diameter, while using the stock motor plate. I was thinking of picking up an Arrma BLX 2050KV motor only because its affordable.

Which motor is that? Did you modify the motor plate?

That fits for sure diameter wise.I have one.
Not sure what your ESC setup is to accommodate the length. It's a 75mm long motor. I have an HCG chassis with my reciever box mounted up front and I currently have a 4275 in mine. You can make it fit for sure.

I have an LCG with a 4074 2150kv running 20/50 gears. Drops right in after moving the receiver box up front. Stock(Ultimate) motor plate with a King Headz mount.
