    3s on grass - gearing?

Hi I got the e revo vxl, we run it mostly in the back yard where its flatt grass, or where the grass is slightly uneven. Sometimes when I hard accelerate with 1 3s lipo (everything stocl except for the traxxas 3s) it kind of sounds like it is skipping a cog. Is this common on uneven grass surface? Would it help to gear down or up? and which part should I buy?

Also the control of the car is good, but it looks like the dampers work A Lot all of the time, when running on grass would control of the car improve with stiffer suspension? And if so tan all round or tan/black. Thanks a lot you more experienced drivers

The overall size or lack thereof on the Mini doesn't bode well for grass.

I've run mine on the grass with 2s many times without problems but it was short grass. 3s batteries are going to put more stress on the entire driveline so a hard start with lots of resistance will cause slipping/stripping.

Hi it runs well on the grass. I also have the nimh stock batteries. But im curious to hear from you more experienced racers if you recommend gearing up or down, and if so to which setup (pls link to the spare part number since im newbie).

    Also curious re the suspension.
I would love to buy a 1/10 or a 1/8 but I think the back yard is to small for them

Is there any mods I can do to ”tighten” the drivetrain?

FWIW, I recently got a 1:16 revo used and have had no problem running 2s on grass with stock gearing. That said I feel like if I run on any deeper/ longer grass I would want to go up a few teeth on the spur gear. Run times drop dramatically on grass vs dirt or pavement.

These things are straight up turds running on grass. They're way too small.

Interesting...I've had no problems at all runnng on grass with it.

The only time I seem to have trouble with any of my cars is when I put a bigger battery in them, grass or no grass.

FWIW, I think the 1/16th scale cars are great little cars.

I should clarify that they have no problem on SHORT grass.

Interesting. Your first reply says "the Mini doesn't bode well for grass"
I think they're great little cars as well. I wouldn't have dumped $1000+ into it if I thought otherwise. Unless your grass is cut like a putting green, it just slows down the car.

Yes, it was. Your reply to me contradicted your first post.

My posts have been quite consistent, I think.

Your first post said it doesn't bode well for grass. Your reply to me said you've had no problems at all running in grass. If you can't see the contradiction, you must be blind.

Both posts clarified that there's no problem on SHORT grass! Reading comprehension seem to be the issue here.

It's a petty argument over a toy car. Get over it.
