Traxxas Link compatibility with aftermarket ESC?

Hello,

I'm updating my Slash a bit to be both a basher and a hobby racer. I hear the guys at the closest track play hard so I'd like to switch the VXL-3s for a sensored Mamba X combo.

Will the Link app still allow me to adjust throttle / braking % and sensitivity with an aftermarket ESC? I wasn't sure if it was a function the reciever could "tell" any adjustable ESC to perform, or it was a function that relied on the VXL-3s to be present. I just like the function to tame bashing sessions, or to hand it off to inexperienced friends or kids.

I've heard you can adjust aftermarket servo trims with the app as long as it you have the Traxxas receiver, but I can't find any info about ESCs, apologies if it's been asked before.

Simple answer: no. You'll need the Castle Link program or card to set up the ESC.

I planned on getting the Castle Link for more in-depth tuning regardless, but I didn't know if I could do any quick adjustments on the fly
