Stampede 4x4 became front wheel drive today, help?

Iím new here. Maybe I didnít hit on the right words in my search.

Anyway one of the rear wheels turns freely by hand while the other one seems still attached to the drive train since it wonít rotate freely past a point, which I assume means thatís not the broken side?

I am mechanically inclined but donít know Jack about these trucks. What seems to be broken? Where or what do I disassemble first? Is there a particular brand other than Traxxas to replace it with?

I apologize in advance if this is somewhere on this site as nauseam.

    Thanks

Also just tried holding front wheels off the ground and hitting the throttle. There is no real pull from the rear wheels when I did this.

Check to make sure the screw pins that hold the axle to the diff are in sometimes they fall out, that's usually been my experiance when one set of wheels don't spin.

I would say pull off the rear wheels and see if the hexes have rounded.

Took the offending wheel off, have a few questions

Thanks for the input gents! Wish I could post pics w/o a host site (which I donít have).

The inside hub of the wheel apparently is rounded off. Looks like itís supposed to be hex shaped to fit over the inside drive but.

    1. Would this cause the other side (same axle) to not drive at all?
    2. Is this a common problem? Did did the outer nut (locknut) somehow loosen up?
    3. Anything I should do different, or buy to prevent from happening?

    1) Yes
    2) Yes. Usually the nut will losen up and the wheel comes off a bit letting things round out.
    3) I use these and haven't had the issue since: Traxxas-Blue-Anodized-Aluminum-Flanged-Serrated
