    I've never been a fan of aluminum. It looks nice but when it gets hit it bends and stays bent unlike plastic wich will return to it original shape after impact.

    Aluminum is heavier and more rigid but not always stronger. For a basher very few parts should be considered for aluminum. Speedrunners make heavy use of aluminum and shelf queens.

    I agree with the above comments...and makes a difference "where" you use the aluminum parts too. I would leave the A-arms plastic for sure.

    I stay with plastic too. I even run the stock plastic stuff for the most part except for the wheel hubs that came with the tekno drive shafts. I put aluminum shock towers on my first slash early on because I was tired of the screws for the shocks popping out, but have since learned I could get longer screws and put a nut on the back side of it to hold it on. If I mess up these aluminum ones i'll go back to stock or the rpm ones I bought thinking I would be breaking them more than I do.

    Aluminum = Stronger...usually
    Plastic = Lighter...usually

    Now, Titanium, on the other hand, stronger AND lighter...plus, other advantages. Then there's carbon fiber, which is stronger, but also more fragile...plus lighter.

    For people to better answer your question, it might help if you specified which parts you're looking to replace.

    How's this:

    RACING
    A-Arms - plastic
    Shock towers - plastic or carbon fiber
    Caster Blocks (aka C-hubs), steering blocks, & rear carriers - plastic (tho, one of my race vehicles uses aluminum)
    Bell Crank - plastic or aluminum
    Servo Horn - aluminum

    BASHING
    A-Arms - plastic
    Shock towers - plastic
    Caster Blocks (aka C-hubs), steering blocks, & rear carriers - plastic or aluminum
    Bell Crank - plastic w/ servo saver (aluminum w/ or w/o servo saver can be used, but see "Servo Horn", below)
    Servo Horn - aluminum...unless using aluminum Bell Crank, in which case use plastic Servo Horn

    I know these answers probably aren't what you wanted, since some answers indicate both.

    I like all the aluminum that the Ultimate and Platinum models come with. I also like aluminum motor mounts, steering assemblies and wheels.
