Hello friends:*First post here, I would like for you guys to take a look at my Backslash build and critique what would be good and what would be bad to add. My plan is to use it for street bashing and skate/bmx park fun, so plan on doing jumps and drifting in the concrete. So here we go:

I bought the backslash kit from jtrc and an $8 wing you can pick up typhon tires on jennysrc for a better price than the duratrax I have too.

Agreed. I use stock parts minus a Robinson racing clutch/pinion and Tekno drive shafts.

"Personally" I would not use the aluminum front and rear bulkheads. I would stick with either stock, or maybe RPM. These would give you some flex needed for bashing. Also I would stay from aluminum arms, and instead use stock arms on F/R.

THanks brother, I see your point, give it more "wiggle" room while bashing, ill stick with the RPM ones.

Stay away from aluminum a arms, shock towers, and bulk heads. especially for skate parks.

You can fit the tekno drive shafts with aluminum carriers if you get different bearings. Iím not sure the size, but youíll find it if you google it.

The hot racing bearing carriers, and steering blocks and caster blocks are a good choice.

    Instead:
    Stock rear bulkhead
    Rpm front bulkhead (lcg)
Traxxas new a arms (3655r) get from jennys
    Rpm shock towers (or stock)

    To get:
    Hot racing bell crank
Might want to think about a heavy duty slipper especially for hard jumps
    Tekno center drive shaft

When you buy the Tekno rear drive shafts they come with the hubs too which helps. I ran stock hubs up front and never had any issues. I did notice just how much crap I hit when I converted my backslash back into a regular slash and looked at the front bumper that used to be flat

Another note: no idea what 3727A is. You probably donít need it. If you want body mount get prolines extended ones.

Also, You will probably need shocks because stock ones are terrible for jumps.

I used a stampede rear bumper too since it had the wheelie bar and I zip tied it up as high as it would go

With the STRC kit it had front and rear pieces to screw stock body mount posts onto. I put longer 4mm screws through to hold the front and rear portions on where the brackets were. I could send my parts your way if you want for a little cash for shipping. I am trying to sell 2 slash chassis to make room for more stuff and save up for an infraction. I already have a typhon 3s/6s so I donít need a third buggy.

I believe that the a arms that come on the new Ultimate and Rustler 4x4 are far superior to the RPM arms.

I used to swear by rpm arms but on the slash 4x4 I find that they end up just staying permanently bent as it's a heavy truck.

I'll buy stock ones again one day.
