Are we to assume the flatbed if TRX 6 based? If the On-Road Hot rods are 4Tec 2.0 based that thing is huge.
Also, holy cow that is cool.
I kinda either the on road cars or the hauler get a non limited non snap on release

Can't get a good enough look at it, but it does look like a TRX6 base. I don't believe it is in scale with other TRX6 1/10 models, to me it looks more like 1/14 scale. If so, that is AWESOME, it would be to scale with my Tamiya King Hauler...

I will say that stuff like this is why I work OT with a smile on my face.

I just read something disturbing about these rigs, and I am hoping it is not true, or hoping Traxxas comes to their senses. I read that they are exclusive to Snap-On customers, and that you have to buy $15k in tools to get the 6X6.

Perhaps an Employee could chime in here...?

They have done Snap-On exclusives before. As soon as I saw these I assumed it was a Snap-On exclusive.

As a snap on customer, I have seen this before where traxxas will make custom body for there rc cars. The last one they did was the x maxx 8 and made it to look like a snap on tool truck. The snap on guy will raffle them out to there customers depending on how much you spend on the tool truck he will give you a raffle ticket or he will have selected a few tools that come with a few raffle tickets

It has snap on written on it so it must be worth $8,000 just like some of their tool boxes. If it said harbor freight on it, it would be $50, lol.

So, here is the conversation with the wife...

Me- Honey, I would like to buy a new RC truck...

Wife- Sure. Are we planning something else as well?

    Me- No, why?

Wife- Well, you are filling out a mortgage application...

Me- Like I said, I want to buy a RC truck...

hey.....there's an idea....a Harbor Freight edition Traxxas vehicle line. I have WAY more new harbor freight tools than Snap-on tools (all, by the way, ones I have found on the street!)

Heck, I would get that truck even if it was offered with a Traxxas logo! I'm not a crawler guy but a flatbed truck would look good with a vehicle on it while pulling my Nitro Vee.

It's a shame it is a Snap-On exclusive. Us common folk will have to wait.

I really like the wheels on the two hot rods
The ‘34coupe could be a nice ZZ Top Eliminator replica ( Dear ZZ Top, you are from Traxxas’ home state, talk them into a different special edition of another special edition )

i like them body/style wise but Snap-On Not so much.....long story short Snap On to me has become Snap Off, its kinda sad when Craftsman tools hold up better and live up to their lifetime warranty.

Yup, really like the Eliminator and the truck. If there were priced reasonably they would be in my stable right now.

I saw a E-Bay listing for the TRX6, $1400! Even if I had $1000 bills falling out of my pockets I would not pay that much for it.

I am not here to trash on Snap On but just got new Snap On 1/4in drive ratchets in a tool box at work, and they already skip teeth.

It's not my rig. I could never afford (or justify) to get one!

Instead twisting the knife, how about just adding some salt?

    What the Fudge is This?!?

This obviously isn't anywhere near scale performance.

I don't think that's the point of this thread. They still look cool! And if I could get one, I would.

    You are correct sir!!!

For companies like Traxxas, Axial, etc... "Scale" is more like "scalish". It would certainly look out of sorts sitting next to my King Hauler. The point of this truck is simply that it looks very cool, and would be an awesome addition to my stable. I am just not willing to cough up the $2200 asking price (local FB and Craig's prices), to me, $650 - $700 would be reasonable.

With that, before this truck came out, I fiddled around a bit with my TRX6 and King Hauler cab to check out some of the possibilities there. I think it would be possible to make a TRX6 with a Tamiya semi cab into 1:14 version of this truck using 1:55 tires.

I would also love to have the Eliminator (assuming a 4-Tec chassis is under that body), removing that Snap-off stickers and custom printing some proper ZZ-Top badging to go on it.

At that price I will keep dreaming also.

Obviously my post was edited - even though I never mentioned another MFR, which is stupid. Other threads actually mention other MFR's, even though 'this is a Traxxas forum'.

Again, you can see some true scale performance vehicles if you look up 1/14 scale trucks .. again - not one MFR mentioned.

Guess I better not mention 1/10 scale, 1/7 scale, 1/6 scale trucks either.

Agreed. The only point I was trying to make is that for the 'hobby' and for the price .. $2200 .. you could easily make one that looks and performs more realistic. The TRX4 is all about scaled realism. So are the 1/14 scale trucks.

This is a little bit of a side note but still directed to this post .
First, a couple of people ( myself included ) mentioned earlier in the post. I noticed that all 3 of these special edition 4 Tec cars are based on Factory Five Racing kits. Traxxas would do well to get more permanent partnership with Factory Five.

That sounds awesome! Do we know how rare each Snap-On special edition model is, ie. Do they only make 50 of each different variant, etc?

Reminds me of my grandpa’s great HESS Truck collection that he’s collected through the decades.
