Cheap and good are rarely found together.

There's a LHS that sells these:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lectron-Pro...oAAOSwmBdbjv8e

(Link is not to that LHS, they sell them for a lot more).

I bought one from them, got a couple more off eBay, decent batteries so far.

    I also tried these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They may be perhaps too cheap, one didn't get recognized by my charger, but Amazon is sending replacements. The one that charges is also doing well so far.

Agree on SMC. And the customer service is great. Can call and get an actual person, and they will help you select whatever size, plug type, and rating you need. Very pleased with mine.

I think I'm gonna buy a SLC 8000 MaH lipo. Can my vxl-3s handle that?

    Smc is the best value.

There are some other brands that are ok as well.

I would not get a huge battery, more runtime also means more weight, and more heat build up. It osn't a 1 and dome upgrade.

I used Gens ace batterys earlier, not notice any different with the Zop power. Quality seams good, works well and has not puffed after 30-40 cycles.

I use HRB since its battery size more or less fits the battery bay. I still need to use adhesive tape to secure it.

Anyone has a better way to secure a 4S lipo to the slash 4x4?

    My battery is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
