Received the Maxx yesterday
Unboxed it
Applied E6000 to the wheel vent holes
(to prevent anything from getting in)
set endpoint adjustments
grabbed a charged 3S pack and achieved a big smile

Tested it for the first time and found out 3s after a minute is slow training mode. But this truck seems tough!

From the moment I saw the max on display three weeks before I could buy it , I said it looks like a very fast beach ball , top heavy and to narrow , but to my surprise Traxxas has for the first time , addressed a problem head on with the wide kits !!!! EEEEEYYYAAAAAEEEEEE !!!! I PUT THIS STUFF ON and finnaly I've got something that can stand up to the king of my 30 vehical hill , the Arrma Kraton , MAXX will be a good match for it , great work Traxxas , finnaly !!!

Telling you guys , get the wide kit , the new metal axles , and now you have what should be called the MAXX , makes this truck 3 times the truck than out of the box , also a fan update is looking nessasary , but I will build this thing to the moon loves this truck now , was not happy with the beach ball it was without the wide kit , you gotta do it believe me it's tottaly worth it

Ran 6 or more packs through it today. Sent it flying a few times of the ramps. Holes are starting in the front of the body where the shock tower is, and may have broken a other fan. This maxx has taken a beating and nothing but a fan broken. Also saw maxx wack a wall at about 30 needs a new bulk head, but handed it well.

The Maxx was complaining how all his online buddies get to go to the skate park and he doesn't, so after buckling him into the car, I drove him to the skate park. Next door is a construction area (dirt mound). First he played on the skate park and even tried the ramps. He did really good at the small table top .. not so good on the quarter pipes though after awhile, he would go up the quarter on a right angle, turn right at the top, get a little air and then land on the base of the quarter. He really liked the table top. Left there and played in the construction area, got a little muddy in the frozen tundra wasteland (where the mud came from is beyond me) and then tried to get back in the car.

When we got home, he then proceeded to show the mud to his siblings.

ya , I can't believe after the Maxx comes out , two weeks later there out of most of the upgrades , found out ithat if online factory is out of stock , the shops are still able to get stuff ,that wide kit , the arms , drive shaft were out of stock , but hobby town got them in green for me , I love this truck now , out of the box I was , but Traxxas really listened to the reviews this time at got it right , great truck now

I just bought mine today from my local HobbyTown. The great news is that they have had a hard time selling any Maxx trucks so they had it at a huge discount. Only paid $400 for the truck and $170 for the live peak charger and 5000mAh 4s battery. Total cost of $590 after tax.

Installed the wide maxx kit and hardened steel suspension pins today, looking forward to getting out there tomorrow and testing it out

moved the bottom shock mount to the outside
running stock Losi 8T wheels tires > less traction , more drift wheelies
stock axle 17mm hex needed the center hump ground
off a few mm, to mount wheels without rim play
Thrashing these fun RC Daily >no failures lately

After running multiple 4S packs, I am pleased as punch with the setup ! I was shocked at the handling difference, I wasn't terribly unhappy with the stock setup after tuning the shocks and was used to mitigating the throttle on turns.Now I have to adjust to being able to lay on it a bit more, crazy what a few millimeters can do.

I like the atv body. It would look realistic with a rider on it if you happen to come across one. I had to look twice as I thought it was a ride-on toy.
Where did you find or what is that body for?

found out that the "Maxx" plastic bushings installed on the wheelie bar wheels
had started to fail - need 10x15x4mm bearings to fix X 4

#1 Maxx - added a ring of solder around the servo saver spring retainer for stronger servo saver action :/
going to order aluminum steering assembly

Thanks. It fits the body well. I was hoping it wasn't the Proline or Hpi bodies. I never grabbed one way back when for my Revo.

Had a stock 4s Maxx tire Blow out

Seems to be manufactured the same as the original 6s Xmaxx wheels and tires
cracking rims , and splitting tires to be expected

installed a 2085 Xmaxx servo in the #2 Maxx
ordered the 2087X metal gear servo set for it
the grey plastic gears in the 2090
stock Maxx servo are inferior

Gave it a once over for loss screws and etc. Also ordered 4 new wheel and tires as all for stock wheels are cracked. Wheels been glued back together a few times. Also going to order a 2nd one tomorrow for my Kid she picked the new redx color.

Thought front diff gears were stripped. Turned out front bulkhead was broken....really broken... in 4 pieces. Got it for my 6 year old for xmas, he's not very ummm cautious with it. Replaced bulkhead, lhs had in stock!! cos he's awesome. had 1 screw and a very thin shim leftover...

Ran it again a few days ago. Let me tell you, I've taken my 3 Arrma bashers, two KAIJUs and the xmaxx 8s out about 5 times, and the Maxx and Xmaxx have survived with zero breakages, except for the bodies. I was hesitant to spend $750 for the Maxx with the widemaxx kit and steel CVDS, but it's super durable.
