Do you think these lipos will “fit”

So I’ve been on the hunt for some 3s lipos outside of smc that’ll fit. I did buy 2 of the smc lipos over Christmas and they are great. But I like to try different brands and see how they are. I found these lipos on amazon, it’s a 2 pack. I know the battery bay is roughly 103x33x18, but wonder if these will be a tight fit. Here’s the link

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VMSWJMH..._7C.fEbAXAQBDK

Would these be a tight fit you think, or just not going to work.

I run the 1500 mAh 2s version of that lipo, and they fit very well in compartment. I a little snug with balance plug tucked inside.

With the tapered ends the batteries should be 95Lx33Dx20H or smaller. Anything 1-2mm larger and you will be stressing the bay.

Hey Zedorda, I bought 2 of these for 33 bucks prime shipping and they fit with room to spare. I’ve already trimmed the battery doors so the wires aren’t a problem. I just gave them a quick test run. Wow. They have loads of power. And my mini e revo was easily going as fast as the cars that fly down my road doing roughly 50mph. Very impressed so far. You may want to give them a try!

    Hi,

I bought these of Ebay and they fit good as well. Need to solder on a Traxxas connector. They are down to the last set.

Appreciate the link! I don’t use Traxxas plugs, my mini erevo has a no name Chinese motor and esc that came with deans.

Ahh thanks I will wishlist it with the others I have found from 1400mah-1600mah. I am waiting for a 2000mah 3S. Just not willing to take less.

These are the biggest ones I have found at 3S that should fit but they are likely a very snug fit if not a little too long.

I was going over these 2 amazon posts and noticed they have the same standard measure but different metric measure. Neither of which match the standard measure.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VMSWJMH..._7C.fEbAXAQBDK

    https://www.amazon.com/OVONIC-Airpla...qid=1579389541

When I convert it to metric I get 101mm x 31mm x 20mm. Which should fit snug without too much risk of being too long. Just makes me wonder which measure is more accurate.

Nevermind found this review by someone that did buy them for his MERV.

I would measure the batteries that you know fit and compare dimensions on other brands you are looking into. Just a thought

I have recently found that SMC has dropped the 1500mah 3s battery they had for the MERV. So I settled on a Venom 3s 1500mah battery but it was the last one Amazon had so not an adequate solution.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I later found an 1800mah 3s on the Banggood so I might try it also but it will likely take awhile to get to me.

I was recently looking for batteries and settled on a pair from the brand mentioned in the first post.

I first bought a pair of 2s 2200mah with measurements 105x33x14 but they would not fit in the battery boxes without cutting stuff up. I'm not even sure it would fit after some cutting to be honest and decided to send them back. Note these are 2s at 14mm thickness so the 3s would be even harder to make fit.

I settled on the 2s 1500mah one which fit perfectly in the box. They come with a nice plastic grip piece over the balance plug but I had to remove it to fit the batteries comfortably in the comparment. I can't imagine a much bigger battery would fit without straining the battery box, seriously stressing the wires or cutting stuff up.

Also, for both the 15 and 22 batteries, it was quite lumpy where the wires are soldered to the battery. The quoted 33mm dimension for the 2200s was accurate but where the wires were, it was more like 39mm.

Hey, BradMD 96. I got these LiPo packs to fit:
    Ovionic 1500mAh, 50C, 7.4V (90x30x14) $22/2 Tight on the length.
    Awanfi 1500mAh, 45C, 7.4V (75x25x18) $26/2 Tight on the width.
These cheapo batteries do well. I run them in an outdoor race environment.

Yes, those Ovonics are the ones I bought. Have only run them once so far (both in parallel) and was very pleased with the punch, power and duration of run time. The 2s 50C seemed to give the same power as my Venom 3s 20C. - Being new to the hobby grade stuff, I'm not sure if that's simply because of the lower discharge rate or that Venom is just old (came used with my used slash).

So far very pleased. Going to do some top speed runs once I get the loose bits sorted out.
One weird thing I had was I lost reverse (in race mode) whilst running the Ovonics in parallel. But I was running through tons of puddles on wet tarmac so I am not sure if that had something to do with the weird behavior. Will see next run.
