Max distance from transmitter to reciever

    Hi all,

I have a stampede 4x4 vxl with a tqi and a 2218 receiver and a stampede 2wd TQ with a 6519 receiver, I'm finding that I can go 2 to 3 times the distance with my 4x4 than I can with the 2wd.

Is there a difference between the receivers or transmitters that allows us to go a further distance?

I'm new to the game sorry if this a obvious question,

    Cheers

I know this is an old thread...
Yes, the TQI goes much farther than the TQ.

I know this is old as well, but I just got a TQ system with the 6519 receiver and the range is disappointing.

I am wondering though is it the receiver or the radio? I took apart both my TQ and TQi radios and they both have mediocre PCB antennas, not actual dipoles like high end radios. Bummer. PCB antennas have generally far worse performance in almost every category than even a cheap dipole.

I was considering binding up my TQi radio to the 6519 TQ receiver to see what happens, but I am just worried it won't be any better.

May end up throwing in a TQi receiver if it's not very expensive but we'll see.
