    PL Brute Bash Armor

Anyone ever use this body? Pros and cons?

Yes. There cons, than price, and itís heavier. Itís been beat on hard and is used every time I bash. It is one of the best things Iíve done for the truck. I never worry about body mounts pulling, or damaging it in any way. Itís insane how tough it is.

I’ll post some pix of mine this evening. It has long straight cracks along the back and sides of the box. It isn’t a good investment. I contacted proline after 3 runs I noticed cracks they sent me one. I paid half of the value. This was not a easy thing. They were tough to deal with!!

    I wouldn’t buy another one.

I have a PL body. So far only 1 major roof landing after taking a nasty kick off a jump but it was undamaged. This was on soft, grassy ground however. It landed directly on the roof from a height of 10 feet over a 40 foot gap

Just messing with it on the bench is more stout than stock. Whether weather or temperature affect it I do not know yet.

Impact was enough to snap both battery straps on one side.

Mine broke on the hood the third time I went out with it. Been a hard impact tho. Backflip out of a bowl and unlucky landing on a concrete/steal rail.

Please see the note in post #4.

Also they do end up needing replacement as the top will wear through after some time....

Iím sure Iíll wear mine out. But come on guys. My truck is 30 lbs. The stuff is not magic. Itís just much more durable than lexan.

That's my thought....at a certain point it's not realistic to think any body is completely indestructible. Dropping from a jump at 20 feet combined with the weight...well I can't do the math but the result is predictable.
But certain bodies tend to bend and crack just by looking at them.

Proline never precuts decals. Iíve cut so many out. Itís my least favorite part of the hobby.

Now waiting on body savers and new traxxas mounts to come in.

Ou yeah and it would help if I could finish cleaning and reassembling the actual truck

Has anyone figure out away to dye the body? I heard the RID doesn’t adhere to body. *♂️

After over a week of looking at the body on a shelf, my LHS finally received new body mounts and RPM body savers...
I am a little disappointed in my excitment...

#1 the Traxxas body mounts do not come with the body support bars (my own fault, but they should be sold together)
Question: so I really need the bar with PL body??

#2 the RPM body savers don't fit!! They fit great in Traxxas body but the moldings aren't the same on PL body... So I also bought the equivalent from Traxxas (7710) and used a few pieces from each kit.

That looks great. Simple and clean. When I get an Xmaxx I dont think I want to bash it. But, on the other hand, I am amazed at what others do to their trucks.....they just keep coming back for more!

Half of me wants to keep it nice....the other half wants to try to break it!

Seriously, at the cost of this beast I personnaly don't have the heart (or the budget) to do half of what I see some people do!

Funny, I have no issues making my Slash jump off anything it can lol
