How can you tell if tor batteries are bad. Need help please help. Thought charger was bab bought a new one. Had dynamite prefet then went to common sense electron pro comes up as cell count wrong. Need help.

Take it too your local hobby shop or electrician and get it tested or buy a multimeter and learn to use it and test it yourself. Or trust your new charger telling you have a dead cell and buy a new battery.
Have a multimeter and know how to use it. What am I looking for on the reading

what voltage are you seeing? check each cell, there are only 2 cells.
there are 3 wires on the balance wire, black is ground, and the other 2 are one of the positives of the cells
One cell 3.8v the other o.ov so I guess it's a bad battery

Thanks for the information

What is the pack voltage at the main terminal?

As Double G asked what is the voltage at main terminal (main plug)? It would show voltage of 0v (broken wire in battery)or a different voltage, which would show the total voltage of both cells. If it shows a voltage you could just have a broken balance wire.
Just buy a bew battery. Smc has good batteries
I actually have an smc battery, and an smc motor
This was taken at main plug its a hard pack

Appears that you have a bad cell. That or as said, you have a broken lead on the balance lead. If the voltage at the main plug to the esc is only reading 4.2vdc or less, then you have a bad cell. If it reads 7.4-8.4vdc, then you have a broken wire on the balance lead. Also as said, might be best to just get a new battery rather then mess with the one you have. LIPO batteries can be very volatile. If you were to accidentally poke one of the cells you’ll have a fireworks show and possibly a fire or get burnt bad. Not worth it for $25 battery. Hit up SMC as said, and buy yourself a new battery or two.
Where do you get these $25 batteries need some of those.

How do we dispose of these batteries. Dont want to cause a problem.

I would try one thing before you write it off...try charging it on nicd mode, I’ve had some luck in the past doing it this way but I don’t condone it
It’s NOT recommended

Tried it it did not work. Done it outside in yard. No good. Just going to trash this one and buy some more batteries.

To dispose of LIPO battery: Taken from here -https://traxxas.com/LiPo-battery-fold-out-large.pdf
BATTERY DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Discharge battery pack to 2.8 volts per cell or less.
2. Fill a bucket with enough water to submerge the battery pack completely.
3. Add salt to the water until no more salt will dissolve; the water
is now saturated with salt.
4. Place the battery pack in the bucket and leave submerged in the
salt water solution for 24 hours.
5. Remove the battery pack from the salt water and test the volt- age with a voltmeter.
6. If the voltage does not read 0.0 volts, submerge the battery
again and re-test until the voltage reads 0.0 volts.
7. Once the battery pack has been discharged to 0.0 volts, it is
safe to dispose.
8. Recycle by calling RBRC at 1-800-822-8831 for the nearest
recycling drop off location.
Thanks
