    What spring rate?

I am looking to upgrade the shocks on the e-revo to the GTR's but need some advise on what spring rate to use for the replacement as well.

    1.76 (#7145)
    2.06 (#7147)
    2.22 (#7148)

This is just going to be used for 'fun', some on road but more off road.

Anyone know what the stock spring rate it for comparison?

    Thanks!

Stock spring rates that came in our model (brushed)

    Tan 2.06
    Black 2.22

I changed my son's to Pink (front) & Purple (rear) with 80wt oil in all 4. Seems to be running nicely in tall grass/offroad.

    Pink 2.77
    Purple 3.20

I put #7246 3.2 purple. In rear. And then left in whatever was in the front. (Car was used to me) It was a bit stronger and longer than black. It kinda looks like purple,. But no idea.

I then put 60/70 weight front / back in.

Then preloaded shocks till they almost touched with car compressed down. So far seems alright but only 1 pack in.

According to the parts list for the VXL version (7108) it looks like stock springs are green for front and rear. I know our brushed model had different stock springs and they were way too soft for my taste.

When I take a picture my fronts look more tan.

I hear people use the summit springs to get it stiffer, so what's what I used in the rear.

I upgraded to gtr shocks and one leaked. Traxxas sent me a complete new shock for free. Now none of them leak and it has been 2 years.

Good to know. Perhaps I just have to high of spring rate and to heavy of fluid. I need to tear mine down and see if leaking and how much. As they seem like they have loss fluid and oily at the ends... Merv gets less usage vs Revo 2.0 and xmaxx.
