I'm all over the place for work so been bringing the xmaxx along and find new parks to bash in while killing time before next appointment or once done for the day
Found this little skate park. I had 30 mins to run in. Right at the end of me 30 mins. I broke bother lower a arms in the front.
I was sending it pretty good.
Some picks of the park and damage
I didn't have my controller with phone mount today. So no vids
Been really enjoying the xmaxx been surprised I have not broken something sooner.
Lhs only has stock a arms available. But hey at least they have em available. Are the rpms worth ordering? I've seen some poor reviews on the rpm a arms. They they have broken first run after put on.

I still have not broke mine in 2.5 years except for the esc. Although I saw my buddy's daughter send his like 20 feet high and landed right on the nose on hard pack gravel. Same outcome you had lol
I have the rpms I like them a lot
Free replacement if you break one you only pay the 8 or so bucks to ship it in
And then write a description of what happened with a return address name etc etc

I have beat the crap out of my traxxas arms. Never broken one!! I hate rpm. Mailing stuff back for me in Canada is so dumb. Not worth it. I hate their warranty procedure.
I have broken 2 sets of the stock a arms and 1 of the rpm.
I find (just like my slash) the rpm arms can take a better beating.
But at the end of the day, it all comes down to how and where you hit it...everything is destructible.

I guess if I break another set I'll try rpm. Stock cost me less than 1 side of rpms...
Figure while I have the car apart will check on the front diff and probably put in the axel carriers I got for it.

Tore the car down last night for maintenance check on both diffs and center diff. Clean up steering linkages.
Looks like I also broke. The 85mm a arm pin. And bent then bulk head tie bar. Which I was able to bend back. While servicing the rear diff, cup screws were loose,. And found a output gear seal wasn't seated right from factor. And had been leaking.
Out 30k fuild in both diffs.
She's all ready to go awaiting a the 85mm suspension pin that will get here tomorrow.
Car is so much easier to work on vs the Revo platform.

I have a question, ¿really the RPM A arms are better than the stock ones?
Most times rpm is a better part if they make a replacement for the stock one.
Online reviews are mixed for the xmaxx a arms.
If I break another a arm I'll give Rpm version a try. My goal was to have car back running to play today. As local hobby stores had the stock parts available. But didn't have the RPM parts.

Have you tried WD40 on the stock arms to make them more bendable?
Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
You can spray it on the truck if you want. But I took the arms off sprayed with WD40. Most say to leave it overnight (I didn't - so I need to do it again) anything left on arms after the waiting period just wipe off and clean up

I must have gotten a very defective unit then. The Xmaxx has done nothing much but break from 1st use. Runs for 5mins after repairs, then break again. The servo horn (any type) is designed for 5mins of play I guess. Very bad bad design this Xmaxx.

never had an issue in 4 years with a servo horn - the servo saver has wore out many times
just swapped over to metal gear servo set 2087x after installing atomic aluminum servo saver
best steering ever since the upgrade

this linkage has failed a few times tho :/

So if you have stock horn and saver set up. Do you keep servo saver screw a little loose or just make it tight? Guess I'll have to make sure my saver is doing its job.

That's a sidewalk strictly for skate boards. Never seen anything like that before. What's the location?
If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with!!!
Yeah I haven't either. I'm rarely in that area. But it was a cool find. It's Holly Skatepark

Since it was mid day on a weekday. No one was at the park.
been checking out a few parks a week in the greater area discovering new places to bash. Mostly word of mouth or searching parks next to jobs using Google maps sat view and any pics uploaded to see if worth going to.
Found a 10th scale carpet track about 1.5h away today with a hobby store. In Albany Oregon, I stopped at while passing through. Sadly no xmax or revos on it. Said he's opening a outdoor nitro / xmaxx sized track in April, and got location for when I'm that way again. and a customer told me about a park with a rouge bmx area that I checked out. Went through 2 packs before the erevo 2.0 broke an a arm. Xmaxx only ran out of juicedefinitely a nice bash area wish it was closer.
Had a big gravel area with no cars as well to power slide around.

Took the fleet out to play with friends and the kids. Let my buddy drive the xmaxx and he hit a tiny 3in diameter tree in the park just right. Between tire and bumper. And broke the lower right a-arm. I didn't see it happen as was swapping batteries out on the rusty. At least he paid for the replacement part. Car all healed up and ready for some bashing tomorrow.

Broke yet another lower right a-arm today. Did a wheelie over a path bridge and tire caught the end of the bridge upright. Broke the a arm at the axel hub carrier.
Going to order me up a set of RPM a-arms. Getting kinda silly with how many a arms I'm going through. Probably see if a lhs has the stock a-arm available while I wait for the rpms.

New park today. Broke another a-arm left this time from landing at the wrong angle on the front left tire. Did get a pack and a half out of truck before it broke. Was able to limp it back to the truck. Got it on vid here.

Time to out those rpm arms on that came yesterday.

That was a wimpy crash. I wouldn’t have expected a breakage! Omg I haven’t broken a controll arm yet and I beat the living crap out of mine. Maybe I’m
Lucky?
Just that crash didn’t justify any broken parts.
New park, Bmx track. New broken parts
Bent the rear left shock strut. Yet to tear it apart and see if I can just bend back or need a replacement. Rear of the body at shock towers are totally trashed now. Even though it had fiber tape and glue..
Got about 1 1/2 packs through by time I noticed issue. Truck to muddy and loosing daylight to try to fix in field.
Raw Vids

At least near at end of each vid is a crash. Had lots more good crashes not on vids as didn't start videoing untill second pack.
Did replace a arms with rpm, and cen pins. Didn't put pins in initially as thought would be good. Lost a stock pin at wheel hub on decent landing. So out in the better pins. So far so good at that point.

Not sure if this happened at that bmx park or somewhere else.
But found this broken while replacing other parts.
Chassis Top Brace TRX7714
Is there a better part over stock I should get?
Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
I would say no. You replace it with something more rigid it just pushes the force to something else more expensive to break.
Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
Get the atomik rc brace it’s a good upgrade
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got a stock on order as the atomic one is bit pricey. Guess it will depend on if I keep breaking them or not.

Also think of the weight you’re adding, raising your COG.
