    Diff question

Just recently picked up a used UDR. Does this truck have a center and rear diff? Doesnt feel like it does (feels like the center and the rear are locked turning at all times), so thought I ask

It doesn't have a center or rear diff. It's a live solid axle in the rear. It does have a front diff.

Not much of a diff .. as compared to 1/10 and larger scale buggies, race cars, etc. It's more of a gear reduction than a diff ... imo

Even a Maxx 4S diff is massive compared to the 'diff' in the UDR. Xmaxx - also large.

The rear diff is locked and the center is a badass torque biasing unit from the XMaxx. Since you have a used one you probably donít have the box that tells you what the truck has

It has a front diff and center diff. It comes with a spool diff (locked diff) on the rear, but you can replace the spool with an actual differential (part #8576).

I like the locked rear diff, Posi rear I control it during the turns and minimize hr rollovers. Once in a while I actually want rollovers... it pleases the crowd especially when it winds up o its feet and drives on and on and...

Wait a minute, I see 2 diff cups, 1 in the center and one in the front, none ion the rear as it is posi-rear drive. No diff action in the back. there is a way to get diff action by replacing the locked spool with a proper diff assembly.

Center diff has million weight oil in it. So it's basically locked but can be forced to turn.

I ordered a set of GPM #45 Steel Ring and Pinion because I blew out two stock ones. Both my fault for the most part, but not the most fun to replace.
