    Steering slop

The steering linkage has a lot of slop in it. Mainly at the bell crank. I canít find any aluminum bell crank sets for the Rustl4r or the Sl4sh. Any ideas on how to get rid of the all the play in the steering. Gonna order aluminum carriers & c-blocks to get rid of some of it.

Did you even look for any bellcranks? Hot Racing and STRC make some...

I like using the 6845X, it can be assembled to fit the 2wd and gets rid of the servo mounted servo saver.

    ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-4x4-Slash-Stampede-Rustler-Rally-Aluminum-Steering-Bellcrank-SLF4801/383077119119?epid=1501729366&hash=item59312cf48f:g :c84AAOSwQoxdP0ZA

This one doesn't come with any bearings so i think you'll have to order some aftermarket ones.

    Like these: ebay.com/itm/10pcs-MR85zz-Mini-Metal-Double-Shielded-Ball-Bearings-5mm-8mm-2-5mm-Hot/401889570159?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2057872.m2749.l2649

But, if you don't want to waste time and buy bearings then i suggest this one: ebay.com/itm/Alloy-Steering-Bellcrank-w-Bearing-Blue-For-Traxxas-Rustler-4X4-VXL-Slash-4X4/202529043064?hash=item2f27abf278:g:RrAAAOSw9C5cc-0Q

Pretty sure the stuff is the same for the rustler 4x4/slash 4x4/stampede 4x4.

I run these on my stampede 4x4 vxl:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077EC3SO
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A29C99O
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A29B9YA
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A399ANQ

If I had a drill press, I'd try using bearings instead of bushings for the kingpin screws on the c-hubs... but I don't, so those will have to be replaced after a while. Kind of stinks as they are $30 a set. Also, I can't seem to find the bushings alone anywhere.

Would be nice if the cross bar/ackerman bar had bearings as well. I was able to use bearings on my jato, but not my stampede. Kind of lame considering the wear/slop these things get after a short while. The best you can do is use some graphite lube or wax based lube on them to extend the life before slop.

Also, not sure what servo you have, but the traxxas servos tend to get sloppy pretty early on as well. I usually used 2075's for steering as I had many laying around from various revo's over the years, but after stripping the teeth out of the 3rd one, I put in a better servo that is total overkill in a stampede, hitec 5985MG. It's quick, smooth, strong and lasts many years though.

For the Slash 4x4's, many of us run STRC or Hot Racing's steering bellcranks:

    STRC:

    Hot Racing:
