    Slash 4x4 Titan 12t 550

My Slash has a terrible noise coming from the motor. I got it in January 2020 will this be a warranty item? I tried having my dad call but they are closed today.

This is the truck I have...

I have the same model and mine started making a noise just yesterday. Mine sounds like a vibration noise and checking mesh did nothing to fix. What does yours sound like?

It sounds like something in the motor isn't happy, "grinding" I'm 12 so I'm not sure how to explain better. I'm sending my dad a video of the truck making the noise so he can post it.

This is my 2nd R/C truck, i got a Redcat for Christmas but we returned it and got this because it kept having issues.

It sounds to me like either your pinion gear (motor shaft gear) is lose, or the gears arenít meshed together properly. Iíd start by removing the cover over your gear box and inspect the two gears.

Definitely pull the cover and check the gears. Probably either the set screw came loose on the pinion gear and it is spinning freely or the motor has moved out of position and the two gears aren’t meshed anymore. Or there are a bunch of teeth on the spur gear stripped off.

If you go to tapatalk you can create a video that would make it easier to diagnose the problem. Brushed motors don't have a long lifespan in my experience.
