    Maxx servo question

I didnít want to start a new thread, but what 1/10th scale servo would anyone recommend for the maxx? I have two savox sa-1230mg servos sitting around. Without an external bec Iím assuming at 4v the servo should produce about 400oz. of torque. This is just a guess though. Iím also looking at protek servos for their speed. But, I want something fast and about 400oz of torque without having to use an external bec. Can anyone recommend a servo that meets those specs? And i will order the servo bracket from traxxas.

Edit: I want to use the two savox servos in my lst 2 e-xxl.

Personally I would get the 2087x metal set for the 2085 servo (although I do have a spare 2085 servo laying around TBH).
Otherwise I would just get the 2085x servo - do away with any adapter or any other issues.....
I believe the 2255 servo is also compatible, without any BEC.....

Where do you get the 4V nonsense, the ESC puts out 6 volts. That servo would be more than fine, but you will need an adapter, don't get the cheap plastic one that Traxxas sells.

Get one of these, use Epak for shipment and you get it fairly soon.

The 2085x is a direct drop in for the maxx?

Then in two months he will be replacing with another one, and so on and on. Buy a good servo and it will last past the maxx, onto maxx rev 2.0, 3.0.

Has anyone used the 2085 servo in the maxx and is it an improvement or is the better one to get the 2085x ? Mine has stripped and would rather skip the adapter all together. Thank you

2085 has a blue case with plastic gears
2085x has a grey case with metal gears
    Both have the same electronics

Maxx with Aluminum steering assembly needs 2085x
    Works perfectly

Your claim should be correct, the sa-1230mg should produce 400 T. Keep it up with the Maxx bro.

And guys, what are the most commonly broken parts for the Maxx? I need to know what to have on hand. Still getting used to this car. Got 40 SO in front Shocks and 50 SO in the back to adjust bounce. Mostly standardized stock but some added modifications. Any suggestions. Thanks a bunch.

Going back to servos, is the 2085 a stronger servo then the 2090? I cant seem to find any specs on the 2090......

I have a spare 2085 removed from an X-Maxx a while ago, which was never used. Im tempted to just buy the metal gear set and whack it in the Maxx but want to know whether its worth the bother......

If you’re still running the stock steering assembly- probably won’t notice any difference
may as well try it with the stock 2085 plastic gears
The stock plastic steering assembly wears out needing replacement
Either repair with the stock replacement parts or get an aluminum steering assembly
noticeably better steering with an aluminum steering assembly

Any recommendations for very good aluminum steering assembly?
