    Angry 8s constant-velocity driveshaft - broken

Was jumping for joy when my LHS got the Blue X-Maxx in and bought it on 3/14. Ran it twice on a soccer field and managed to have the pin on the constant velocity driveshaft fall out. Not the pin that is near the tire, but the one that goes into the drive cup. Ran back to the LHS with the broken drive shaft, owner was great got on the phone with Traxxas and helped me with a warranty. I also ended up buying a driveshaft as well, I wanted to play more. Replaced the driveshaft and 5 runs later, the other side is now broken. Same pin fell out on the other side.

Is there anything you guys are going to prevent this? -I'm temped to throw a weld..

Guess now another warranty is needed on a truck that is only a week old!!

Never seen this. Must be a bad batch. Warranty all that break.

I bet can just weld it if wanted, gotta keep it clean and smoth. Otherwise you will see tire wobble from drive cup And axel.
Perhaps a hammer smack will keep it in place. Yet to give thought on how those.pins are made to stay in place at manufacturer.

Could get a steel pin and and make your own

I bet you the other two axel will fail same way as well. So be prepared.

Enjoy the truck it's a blast.

That’s crazy. I have 3 xmaxx. And beat the out of all of them. I run stock cvd’s they are good! I’ve never seen that. I’ve split drive cups though! I’d clean it all up good blow it off dry it up put some red locktite in the hole and on the pin push it back in and let it set up for 24 hours.

I never saw that either. I have had both 6s and 8s trucks and still running 6s shafts in trucks that been upgraded to 8s. Guessing a bad batch.
