    diff mods

I'm getting back into rc after 25 years as the dirt oval is running again. I have a slash mud boss and I haven't run it yet as the virus has everyone stopped. In every form of racing I have been involved in everyone locked the diff. would this be effective or run some really stiff gear lube??

I run a stock slash dirt oval which is pretty similar. Some people lock the diff and others run them as loose as possible. I don't think there is a definite answer. It's going to depend on track build and conditions, set up, driving style, and personal preference. Personally, I run mainly on a high banked very high grip bull ring. I've found neutral to a little bit stiff works the best. I clean out the Traxxas diff lube and pack mostly full with Lucas Oil Red 'N' Tacky. Seems to work for me.

Thanks JD that's what I was thinking. Trying to figure where the speed will be when I get back to racing>
