    Need help

Gtr shocks wonít fit stock shock screws to mount to the shock tower (hard to explain but you can see what I mean in the picture) and I checked the package and it doesnít seem to have new screws to make them fit. Not sure if anyone knows how to modify it or if I should just get new screws

Pictures here https://photos.app.goo.gl/xRCsQkmcWfRYQ6J38 (sorry Tapatalk isnít working for some reason)

Yep, you need 3mm screws. I usually use a 3mm cap head with a washer to keep the shock on in case it pops off the ball.

That's what I use on my stampede with the GTR's:

It is important to have a box of assorted screws and washers. I personally have this: https://amzn.to/3bv3LH7

But many members like this brand as well: https://amzn.to/2zhnZWI

It really is. I've lost count of the times that kit of screws has saved me from calling it a day and being able to fix it on the spot. That and a bottle of Loctite (https://amzn.to/2KpLb7x) are a must when you get serious in this hobby. Then you start adding back-up parts for stuff that breaks often until your wallet and or the wife says no

Yeah, after being in the hobby over 20 years... I have hundreds of screws, washers, nuts, spacers around, so I don't think much on it unless I need a specialty bolt for a king pin or something.

I usually make an order once every other year or so at mcmaster.com for 3mm/4mm screws/washers/nuts. I usually buy long, then I can cut and dremel them to use if I need shorter so I don't have 20 lengths of the same kind of screw. Lately though, when getting low, I just hit up amazon and buy a pack of 20-50 of assorted sizes of 12.9 black oxide of whatever it is I'm low on.

Are you sure those are the right GTR shocks? They look a little short. The slash 4x4 needs the GTR Long up front and the XX Long in the rear. Part numbers 7461 front and 7462 rear. The set of 4, part number 5460, is meant for the models with the shocks mounted inboard, like the erevo. Easy to spot the difference as they come in a pack of 4 and are all the same size. Using the 5460 on a slash will be a huge performance decrease.
