    Steel CVDs and Hubs

Have just installed the WideMAXX Steel CVD kit and have two questions......

Steel CVD install went fine. I then installed the hubs and notice there is nothing to keep the hinge pin in place other then the wheel - meaning if the wheel should fly off, or I remove a wheel, the hub hinge pin would just fall out?? Is that correct or am I missing a grub screw somewhere???

Also, When running the truck I get chatter when steering full lock. The same as in this video from 2:30.
    Is this normal also????

Glad to hear you found the prob with hex pin question. All the parts to the widemaxx kit I ordered will be in early next week. I can share with you my experience post-install.

Mine all bolted on - would be interested to see if you get the chattering issue on full steering lock as in the video in the first post.....

Just waiting on Traxxas to send me wheel hubs (#8654R, bought on 4/21 and have not shipped YET) and then I will slap it together and see how it compares.

Where were the set screws for your steel axles? In the axle already or came with hubs? I did not have any loose set screws with my steel axles. I have not received my hubs yet. What size are the set screws?

I purchased a set of hubs and nuts from an eBay seller who was stripping another truck. It came with the hex pins as well as the set screws in the package. Managed to get the whole lot at less then half the Traxxas price and it was all brand new too!

    Hi

Did you find a solution for the chatter at full turn?

I have just installed the wide kit and steel drive shafts and am facing the same problem.

Id keep looking and try traxxas support again. I installed mine a couple of days ago and ran it hard this past weekend. No chatter at full turn. Both directions are smooth as butter.
