Is the motor spinning, or is it going back and forth?
(If the motor is spinning, all you have to do is the tighten the nut to compress the spring)

It will do both, so I replaced the slipper clutch and I set it to 1 and half turns from fully compressed and it still does it,I’ve tried all sorts of adjustments on it to no result

Take the motor out, and see what it does.

I did that as well, runs great, also checked in the gearbox and didn’t notice any damage

If you push the car without the motor installed, does everything run smoothly?

I rolled if forward it felt smooth but backwards it clunked and made a noise very similar to when it has throttle applied

Is that a sensoreless motor/ESC? You may have a loose wire. Mine did something very similar one time and thatís what it was.

I would tighten the slipper clutch and see what happens. One and a half turns is awfully loose. I set mine 1/4-1/3 turns loose from fully tight

Have you looked at the plastic bushing that connects the slipper clutch to the bearing on the rear chassis? Mine melted, replaced it with an aluminum one, works great now.

Could you send or attach a pic of the bushing you’re talking about?

I don't have a picture, but this is the part number for the replacement. Got mine on amazon.

Your motor is "cogging". Do a search for that issue, not sure if it's a motor problem or the esc.

When you say you’re unsure if it’s the motor or esc, could the cogging be either or?

    Slipper clutch issue

Did you check your motor to ESC wires? A bad/loose connection will cause the problem you are having.

    What motor/ESC are you using?

My experience has always been a motor problem causing cogging.

Took a look at the connectors, all three were bent just above the top of the bullets in middle of the heat shrink, didn’t notice it thought it was normal since all three had done it, but I bent them back and the cogging subsided so I’m gonna order new ones and solder them on

I had the same problem (among other things) on my 2WD Slash. The solution for me was to get a Robinson Racing Slipper, Pinion & Spur. Just came back from 60 minutes of pure bashing (3S) fun.

Nice. What's the tooth/pitch on those?

The Spur is .8 mod 56 tooth. The pinion is their big bore one. I got a EZRun 3660 motor from HobbyTown & it comes with a larger shaft than what comes with the 2WD Slash. Loving this setup, but I need to that Hot Racing all aluminium case as this plastic one has a lot of slop.
