    Receiver not binding

Read posts, didn't find something else to try.

Rustler VXL took a dip in the pool and the receiver got wet and stopped working.

    Ordered a new TQi receiver
Plug in only channel 2 to the VXL-3s with battery pack
Turn on Transmitter holding SET and the red light slowly flashes
Hold down linq while powering on the Rustler and the Receiver light slowly blinks
    Transmitter light starts blinking quickly
    Never bind

What should I be looking for next?

The steering servo is not plugged into the Receiver.
Transmitter is TQi that matches the Receiver.
New Receiver looks just like the one that got wet.

I bound new receivers to my TQi radio through the app. Followed the directions, and it bound first try. I think it has some bind mode inside the app with slightly different instructions, I'd give that a shot.

Thanks Mike, it looks like that app only works with a newer bluetooth TQi. I have an older red TQi.

Did you make sure it was plugged into the 3rd port which is the #2 slot. Just checking we've all made mistakes while messing with rx's.

Thank you, yes. I tried both the third (ch2) and first slots.

Good callout, I'd assumed the receivers were the same. In actuality, the prior was 6518 and the newer is 6533.

That said, they *appear* to be compatible. The model on my transmitter says "MODEL: 6513-4-5, 6507-8-9" which seems good to go with either receiver.

    The 6513 is a 2ch transmitter and the 6507 is a 4ch transmitter.
**Just looked at mine.Traxxas put both on the sticker.**

Do you have the red TQi 4ch.

    **Tried to bind mine. Red TQi 4ch MODEL: 6513-4-5, 6507-8-9 to a #6533 and I couldn't.**

LOL, that doesn't make sense. Here's the pic of the transmitter. https://photos.app.goo.gl/yged5xGiM2bZzt8v6

Found an article that suggests I may need to update the firmware in the transmitter.

I just looked at mine. Forgot they did that. I use the Bluetooth ones now. Had to find an old controller. Also edited my post above.

Thanks Rain Dawg. That solves the mystery. No TSM receiver for the older TQi.

Looks like I need to send mine in for a firmware update if a want to use the TSM receivers.

Yeah I got caught a couple of times with out dated tx or BT Module and had to send them in to get reflashed so now when I do an update and it works with one I update all other tx's, 4 all backups and 4 BT Modules all backups. I hated being without even though the turn around time from Texas to here was roughly 3 weeks which isn't bad.
