Strange TSM behavior and steering problem

    Hi.

I have bought a brand new Rustler 4X4 VXL.
I have noticed strange behavior with TSM on my Rustler.

When I set it to 0%, the TSM is disabled and the steering is fast and consistent (left and right), the TSM is totally disabled and I have no stability correction.
When I set it to 100%, the TSM is enabled and work normally. the steering is still fast and consistent (left and right), the TSM is enabled and I have stability correction.
But when I set TSM between 0 and 100%, the steering is slow and not consistent, steering radius becomes really bad especially left side.

I have seen this post on Traxxas forum : https://forums.traxxas.com/showthrea...eering-problem
The person seems to have the same problem :
if i turn the tsm to zero on my knob its fine steering is as it should,
allso on 100% its allso fine,
but everything in between its freaking slow,
at first i thought it was running low on battery,
it cant turn to full lock it returns very slow

I think there is something wrong with my Rustler.

    What can I do ?

Try replacing the servo, preferably work anon-Traxxas unit. The Traxxas servo is underpowered for one thing, and known to be "quirky" for another. I had the same problem...and, after upgrading to a Hitec servo, never had the problem again. Not saying this WILL work for you, but, for some reason, it's worked for many people, myself included. Of course, in my case, it no longer matters, as I've since replaced ALL of the Traxxas electronics, thus I no longer have TSM.

The servo is brand new and works normally when TSM is disabled or 100%, so I don't think the servo is problem.
Maybe a bug with the TSM system/firmware ?

I have retested with the TSM ON from 1% to 100%.
The steering to the right is OK, the steering to the left is really slow, and the steering radius is really bad.
With TSM OFF (0%), the steering is fast and responsive both left and right.

Interesting, I wonder why the 2wd slash is profile 1 while 2wd rustler, stampede and bandit are profile 2?

OK, I have found the problem and a workaround.
When I turn ON the transmitter, the TSM seems to be not calibrated. It center the steering to the left (instead of center).
I have to set the multifunction to TSM each timer I turn ON the transmitter, then it works normally.
I think this is a bug on the transmitter.
