    Servo

Do trail trucks/crawlers require a special kind of servo? I have one lying around from my slayer pro that i was planning to use. Do you guys think that'll work fine? it's a 180 ounce per inch..

Crawlers tend to need stronger servos
As they are being asked to turn the soft sticky tires under load.
So to answer the question yes it will work for light duty stuff but may not turn the wheels under load or last very long if it gets worked too hard.
Look for metal geared servo 300+oz.
I don't like it not turning when I need it to so I go overkill on steering servos.
I look at it like if it needs 300oz and I have a 600 oz the servo is not working as hard so it should last longer and
    Run cooler.
Thats just me though where I run is hard on equipment.

If you are mainly just trailing it you would be fine. Out on the rocks that one will be a little outmatched.
