    Thank you! [emoji16]

Luckily the stripes even line up with the roof ones, phew!

Paint supplies arrived yesterday (finally!) so progress can continue!

Almost there with the main body now, just details like window surrounds and lights to paint, then itís on to the decals.

This pic shows how good vinyl decals can be as masking. This Ford logo was bought from eBay in reverse (designed for inside of your window glass) and has not bled at all - phew!

The overspray film is still fitted so it all looks a bit flat at the moment...

    Hereís a bit more progress...

Painting all done now (apart from the door handles), decals applied, just need to sort:

Light buckets and led light wiring
    Fit led light bar
    Paint and fit handles
    Add some shut lines
    Sort an interior

Thank you!! Itís getting there - a few little bits that could have been better but itís all good learning!

Looking forward to getting it finished.

Light buckets are Chinese BMW M3 items, so need some heating and bending to fit properly. Quick mockup with light bar taped on too!

Wow thank you for the kind words!

Still lots to do, but at least itís progressing again.

These door handles are the current task - a real pain, but only because the stripes run through where they are mounted!! [emoji1787]

Your paint jobs look just like WOW! I mean you need an award from someone for these. Maybe send this in for Prolines body contest or something. Well done sir!

Iím always a bit cautious until the first roll-over, but then I donít worry too much! Itís an excuse to think about the next one... They never stay shiny for long with a 4yr old test driver in the house!! [emoji23]

The Evolution of a 4x4 Ultimate

    Haha thanks Jindap!

Hereís a little bit more progress - headlamp buckets... These are cheap Chinese eBay specials for a BMW M3 but they work pretty well on the Fiesta with a little bit of chopping!

Hereís what I started with (original on the left, modified on the right):

Then I masked and sprayed the edges (yeah I got my thumb too!!):

I then marked up the shell and painted the headlamp surround to match the shape (and tried to copy the 1:1 rally fiestas a bit too):

Then a bit of shoe goo to hold it on. I will seal the edges with foil tape once itís dry, then add a layer of shoe goo all round:

And there you have it! Just needs LEDs adding.

Very awesome work! I'd be afraid to run these bodies you've done such an amazing job on lol. Honestly, I bought a Slash 2wd about a month ago brand new and was very hesitant to run that body just because it was still factory new. I saved it until I was able to install the RPM "No clip" body mounts, which I did this weekend. I also picked up a Slash 4x4 VXL (I wanted the Ultimate like you have, but stock has been limited at my local store so I decided not to wait). Anyway, I have yet to remove that new Slash 4x4 body from the plastic yet too, it's too nice looking. Thinking I'm gonna save that one until I get the same setup installed on it as I do on my 2wd Slash.

However, seeing the awesome work you've been doing with these bodies, it's inspiring af and has got me thinking about doing something custom. If only I could find an Audi S4 shell (preferably B5 or B6 body style). That would be worth me learning to paint and it appears my local store carries all the paint needed to DIY.

    Keep up the great work!
