    EZ start one way bearing failure

    In the past month I have had 2 one way bearings fail on my revo EZ start. how often do these one way bearings fail and why wont mine stop going out on me?

    Not often at all. Clean and re-oil per recommendations, make sure the washer is installed between it and the back plate.

    I rotate between to OWB and have never had one fail in years.

    The starter shaft the OWB sits on is also a consumable item. If you have this issue repeat, it is likely that you need a new shaft as well. The OWB and starter shaft have a tolerance that must be met for them to work. Putting a new OWB is not always the only fix needed.

    Back plate bushing can get worn out and excessive leakage can happen too, but it could allow too much play for the starter shaft after a ton of wear.

    Interesting. I replaced the starter shaft and back plate less than 2 quarts of fuel ago. I need to double check on the washer as I don't remember there being one.
