    My Telluride 4x4 sport

Hi, in 2014 i bought my first Traxxas, a Stampede 4x4 vxl. inspired by the Jang, and others, it has bin in many shapes. Tried to make a Crawler whit Slash 4x4 HCG and Stampede 4x4 chassi.
I found that the Slash chassi is a bit long, and the Stampede/Telluride chassi too short.

So i bought a used Telluride this year to do my 3. atempt on building a Trail/crawler car.

    Setup:
Custum homemade Stampede 4x4 Chassi, stretched to new Wheelbase 312 mm.
Telluride bulkheadz, A-Arms and the rest of steering components.
    Locked servo saver.
Slash 4x4 HCG battery hold down.
Shortened slash 4x4 center drive shaft.
100 % locked diffs whit glue.
Slash 4x4 wheels whit 2.2 crawler tires 126 mm OD, i cut inside bed to fit over the 3 inch inside of wheel.
Ultra shocks that i tricked out on the length, 20 wt oil.

    Electronics:
    Power HD 20 kg servo.
    Hobbywing 1080 esc
    Axial 27 T motor.
    3:1 Gear ruduction unit
    Stampede 4x4 slipper clutch, 54 T spur.
    3S lipo.

    Body:
I had a Jeep Comanche 313 mm body layng around that i have used in the start. but i have ordered a Traxxas Trx 4 sport body for it.

I will make some bumpers when i get the sport body mounted.

I think the car do very good on rocks and hard terrain, its not 100 % finish, but works good, have over 20 battery packs on it so far.
    I will post some pictures.

Sorry for my English, im from Scandinavia.

Thanks, i think it will look better with Trx4 sport body. Hmm i got the car cheap. with all parts and all maybe about 450 US Dollar.

I would say that it is kind of a budget build, mostly stock Traxxas plastic, some home made steel plates for chassi. And budget friendly elektronics.

SUBSCRIBED! I dig this truck! I've always liked the Telluride. I like how you stretched out the wheelbase, that will definitely improve the stability. Great job on the build. The TRX 4 sport Body is one of my favorite crawler bodies. About five years ago a friend of mine had a Telluride and that thing climbed like a goat.

Hi, yes i love this 4x4 chassis myself, and they can do pretty good in terrain.
The longer wheelbase helpt out alot, no i can climb much steeper terrain without folling backwords.
Yeah the Trx4 sport body do look good, and like all the scale optonial parts for it.

Cool! Thanks. Good looking truck. I prefer pickup truck bodies to SUVs.

So how well does a crawl on the Rocks you or at? Does it tip over easily, or is it pretty planted?

I think it crawl pretty good on the rocks, i have no solid axel truck to compered with, but i can go almost anywhere. It can get stuck on sharp rocks on the A-arms some times.

On rocks the low gear ratio, locked diffs and crawler tires realy help i guess.
With the new wheelbase 312 mm and a track width of 275 mm its very planted and do not tip over so much. I think 275 mm is wider then most trail trucks?

Made a front bumper, using some old slash 4x4 parts. Not super happy about the look, but it will work for now.

I will try to make a running video some day.

If you're into tinkering, you could put LED lights in the round holes of the bumper.

Made my first ever rc video. It was extremely hard to film and drive with only 1 hand I could not get the feeling on the throttle, but here is a video for you:

I bought these tires on ebay, but I can not remember what brand and model they are.
They are 2.2 tires, 125mm OD. I have not testet so many crawler tires, but I like these alot. Very grippy.

Picture of the wheel from the inside.

Did some tuning on my HW 1080. This program card comes in the box with esc. Easy to use.

Nothing new with this guy, but I have driven it alot in the summer.
Consider the build finish for now, but uppgrades are under planing.

My chassi has held up so far.

I have a box of parts to build a custom Telluride, and this makes me wonder what it would be like to use either a Rustler 4x4 chassis tub or new HOSS chassis tub, which should allow a better fit using either an Axial Dingo or Mighty FC body.

I suport that, building a Telluride is fun and it can use old stock parts that wasnt cool enough for other cars.

The Hoss chassi looks like it will be an perfect uppgrade chassi over the stock Telluride/stampede chassi.
Its 295 mm wheelbase and HCG from what i can see.
I hope Traxxas comes out with a Hoss chassi kit, including battery hold down, and other exlusive Hoss parts if needed.

Rustler 4x4 is LCG and in terrain it could get hung up very much on chassi.
