    Traxxas aluminum diff problems

Anyone have this problem? I can't get the diff to turn smooth unless I leave out the washers by the o ring gasket?

Update,if I put it back in the plastic housing it's fine. Use another new Traxxas aluminum housing with the black washers it binds up

Scope some older pages of this forum. Somewhere past page 4 I recently saw a thread regarding this issue.

It seemed to have been passed from Traxxas that the washers aren't necessary, and using them causes problems.

I don't have the open diff though, so I didn't pay too much attention. I recommend finding the thread.

That is correct.....washers aren't necessary. Built my diff without them. They are needed if you use plastic diff case.
