Rustler XL-5 to Stampede XL-5 Conversion

What do I need to do to make a Rustler XL-5 to Stampede XL-5 conversion?

The biggest difference is obviously the chassis. You'll also need skid plates, a battery hold down, body mounts, tires & wheels, turnbuckles, a servo saver, appropriate gearing for the larger tires, ... That's what I've got off from the top of my head, I might be missing a thing or two.

the motor and esc are the same wheels and tires are the same size I would only use the suspension from stampede to rustler which has more ground clearance?

Because of the Stampede tires, it has more ground clearance. But, with the same tires on both chassis, they have the same ground clearance.

I think Yojih means center ground clearance of the chassis.

The ground clearance at the bulkhead and rear skid are the same,
because the front and rear ends are the exact same on Rustler and Stampede.
Iím pretty sure cooleocool got the parts list right for the rest.

How much would that be for total price for conversion?

The Stampede and Rustler share the same suspension (arms, shocks, etc.). The cost to convert could vary depending on where you get the parts from, I don't really have a figure for you.

The electronics between the Stampede and Rustler are exactly the same.

2.8" Stampede-sized tires fit and work fine without modification. Just like with the 2wd Stampede and the normal Rustler tires, you need wide offset in the front, narrow offset in the rear. You could potentially go even larger than 2.8", but the issue at that point is not so much the size of the tire but it's weight and mass and the extra stress it puts on the caster blocks, bearing carriers, stub axles, etc.
