    Spur gear lock nut

    Hi all I have a quick question no matter how much i tighten the lock nut on my spur gear after about 3 mins of run time it loosens to the point where the truck revs to the moon and barley moves any ideas on how to keep it tightend

    Im currently having this problem with my 2wd slash. Or was. I used a little dab of red loctite on the end of that screw and it hasn't come out yet. Blue might work but all i have is red.

    @Munstakawi209 The nut is 5mm according to Traxxas. I'm going to say 5mmx0.8mm because it doesn't look like fine thread pitch it looks like coarse.

    More then likely the internal nylon thread locking ring/gasket has worn out and the nut will need replacing. Traxxas sells them in a 8 pack, the part number is 4147.

    I still use blue gel loctite on my slipper nuts. Even when they are new, they sometimes like to walk themselves loose. Same with axle nuts.
