    Summit Low Voltage

I got my son a Summit just under 3 years ago. It has seen some use, but has been sitting for the past few months. When he went to charge the batteries, he noticed they were swollen, so we got new replacements (Traxxas 7600mAh 7.4V lipo).

Both batteries are fully charged at 8.35V. However the ESC (EVX-2) is showing the low voltage detection light and power is significantly reduced.

Any ideas of the cause and how to fix? Iím a DIY type, but limited knowledge of RC stuff.

Personally, I've never liked or had good results with the EVX-2 Low Voltage Detection. I've found that it kicks in waaay too early. Instead, I opted for disabling it and started using a small voltage checker/alarm. I can program the cutoff alarm to my liking to alert me when my batteries are dying. This does have the limiting factor of not being waterproof, but with some creativity, that can be resolved.
Why can't other people share my opinions?
