    Ac to Dc Adapters

Ok So I just got a new truck, 8.4V 3000mAh niMH. It came with the charger that goes to my vehicle, should vehicle run while charging and what should I get for an adapter to plug into a wall if I do not want to use the Traxxas one.

The instructions that came with my charger say not to connect to a running vehicle.

    Welcome to the Traxxas forums!

Not sure what charger you have, but the wire on the DC chargers has a warning tag that states:

    WARNING:
DO NOT use this charger inside a running automobile or while driving.
The cord length is designed to allow charging outside of an automobile with the engine turned off.

    Also in the instruction manual:

DO NOT charge batteries inside of an automobile.
Do not charge batteries while driving in an automobile.
The charger is equipped with a long cord intended to allow the battery to be charged outside of an automobile when using the automobile’s auxiliary power socket. If the cord will not reach outside of the automobile, find another power source.

    Have fun!

    Edit:
    If keeping it Traxxas:

So why don’t they sell them with a wall charger so I can charge it in my house?

Also I have the Traxxas 4 amp NiMH DC charger #2975

Why include something at extra cost that some buyers might not need? You see these basic chargers on sale on ebay and other sites all the time. I have about a half dozen of the basic wall chargers I use if i'm in no hurry otherwise i use my EZ Peak Plus 6 amp.

Since I can only plug into a car charger 12v port, and I’m supposed leave it outside the car, will this summer heat not damage the battery, seems it’s be better in a cool environment than left outside, thoughts on solutions...

And sorry for all of the questions, I am new to the Traxxas and r/c car world.

You can get a AC to DC converter to you can plug the charger into a 110V outlet. Traxxas part#2976.

If you plan on upgrading later to LiPo batteries you could get a better battery charger instead.

I went ahead and bought the adapter, I would’ve bought it when I got the car but my store was out, so in the week or so until it gets here do you all just set on the ground near the car you’re plugged into?

I would just put it on the ground and out of the sun. Perhaps shade it with a box or something. As the heat is no good for it.

Or use the shade under your car (real one, not your RC).
