    VXL3S motor heatsink/fan?

Anyone running a motor heatsink/fan combo in conjunction with an esc fan? If so, what are you using? How are you powering all of them?

Well I WAS using an integy single fan setup.. Dont buy integy fans.. The heatsink is fine but the fan is awful. If you drive in any sort of dust or dirty areas, it will literally die the 1st run. Maybe 2nd if your lucky.

Now I've heard hot racing, or maybe its yeah racing, has a good setup with a strong fan that will last.

With a good fan and heatsink you should see a difference of at least 10 to 30 maybe as much as 40 degree difference. In Fahrenheit.

The way it is hooked up, it comes with a connector and wire that you can plug directly into your receiver box. Like your esc or servo is. Same connector. Just use the channel 3 slot. Channel 1 is for servo and channel 2 is for esc. Any others should be okay.

I am waiting to see what kind of answers you get.
I just added a HS to my motor because I run a little tall
I not added fans yet but have been looking around to see what options I can find.

Hobbywing also makes a huge fan/heatsink, but I don’t know how good it is

I've had Integy on two of mine for several years now with no issues in water, dirt, mud. Guess it's like anything else electronic, could easily have issues.

I run Yeah Racong Tornado fans. Have em on esc and motor. I have run them on a couple rainy wet days. And they didn't quit. They are not WP but they are durable as can be.

I have the integy double fan on the motor and velineon fan on the ESC. Mine is over heating on hot days here in Texas when bashing. Runs around 160-170 during 80 degree days.

I am going to a Hot racing ESC heat sink and fan with a double yeah racing fan setup on the motor. Hoping the better fans allow me to not overheat.

Yeah Racing fans are a great investment! They kept my Velineon motor cool and easy to touch.

ooooohhhhh look how clean that slash is! I like how that fan fits. Are both fans running from the receiver or do you use a BEC?

I second the YR fans. They definitely move some air!

Here’s my new setup.. it’s actually quieter than my old fans and push a ridiculous amount of air.

Dude, thank you. That is amazing. Did that bring your temps down?

Oh yeah. Before on hot days I could easily hit thermal protection stage1 - but now it keeps it pretty much always below 150.

I will warn you though, the price for shoving that much fan into that small space was that itís now fairly difficult to get to my mesh screw. Also I had to rearrange a lot of the wires to make it all fit.

I try to keep them clean. That way when people look at them, they have their best foot forward. Neither fan is connected to the esc. They are both plugged into an empty spot on the receiver. Here is a picture of the Ultimate Slash 4x4 with the El Sob special 2.0 and Yeah Racing fans
Nitro is correct! They do move a lot of air! The fans I use are rated for twelve volts
