    GTR shock question.

    Hello,
I just bought the GTR shocks ( long ) all the way around for my slash 4x4 street build.

    https://traxxas.com/products/parts/7461

My question is do they make metal caps and the thing you turn on shock to adjust ride height?

I was suprised to see these are plastic.

    Thanks for any help.

You won't need aluminum shock caps or the ride height adjuster. They are heavy duty. I have GTRs on multiple vehicles and have never broken a shock cap or the adjuster, and I beat the snot out of my trucks.

Honestly, I've never seen upgrade aluminum shock caps for the GTR. Even if there was, don't waste your money, especially on a street build

Not necessary, but you can get aftermarket parts.

I had no idea that GTR upgrade parts were available, but then again I've never looked. LOL!
These look pretty slick for some bling.

Traxxas got it right with the GTR shocks - IMHO. The plastic caps and adjusters have deep enough threads so that they don't strip.

My concern though is that you said you bought the long shocks for all the way around. Did you consider they may be too short for the rear which are XX-long?

As low as i'm trying to get this thing for street, they seemed fine. I mock placed them on towers and arms.
Seemed to be ok, i'm waiting on my new shock towers to come in then i will put them on. should be in today.
