    Road Tire Suggestions?

    Hi Team,

I am working on top speed with my XL-5 2wd Stampede. Do you have any suggestions for straight line tires?

Maybe something sticky with little grooves in back and something that is good for steering on the asphalt up front?

What have you run, other than stock, that has worked best for you on road?

    Thanks,

Well, if you have the brushed Stampede, then I assume it came with the chevron tires?

You might consider the stock Stampede VXL tires.

I use them on my 2wd Rustler, and they do great on the street. Actually I think they are better on the street than off-road. Great grip off-the-line and they baloon at high speeds (which actually increases your speed). I do great with drag races.

These are the set up that I am working with now. I do agree that the tread pattern lends itself more to on road especially with the deep channels for water release in rain.

I was wondering if anyone is using a stickier compound or even had suggestions on foam inserts, balancing, and the like.
