    Parked car

Warning never let your inexperienced wife drive your rc car. Full speed with 4s doesnít mix with a parked car. Time to figure out what I need.

Yikes! Hopefully this doesn't happen again. How did the parked car fare?

That was pretty funny. I wasn't sure what to expect. How hard do you have to hit something for that to snap in half? That's quite a piece of plastic.

It was probably going 50mph. Hit the tire of a Chevy truck. Gives me a reason to find some upgrades

Yessir. Do they sell an aluminium chassis for it? And I think they sell an aluminum brace that goes from front to back im pretty sure.

I don't know that an aluminum chassis would have done any better. With that much impact force, it probably would have bent the aluminum, which is no better than broken plastic. Also, aluminum is heavier, which is not only harder on your electronics but creates even more impact force when you hit something. I don't think you can really fault the chassis, as it's pretty strong. Anything will break if the impact is hard enough.

Not sure if thereís a aluminum chassis. Iíve thought about the brace, but I tend to stay away from aluminum. It looks great but from past experience it can cause more damage. If you crash hard enough the aluminum can bend or warp and is more expensive to replace. If it takes the crash it puts more force on the parts itís attached to, causing them to break. I had aluminum A arms in my rustler after a crash the A arm was fine but where it attached to the transmission snapped. Cost more to fix. After that I switched out to RPM plastic arms. Plastic has a little flex and is more forgiving in crashes. Without replacing the servo( I have a normal size spare thatís stronger then the stock one) Iím up to about $40 in parts. Not bad considering the trucks in 2 pieces.

seriously though, use this as a opportunity to guilt her into letting you buy an xmaxx.

Yea! Itís fixed. The parts came in today. Installed a 400oz servo. Also broke down the center diff removed about half of the 2 million weight stock fluid and added 500,000 weight to top it off, and replaced my shock fluid with 50wt in the rear and 35wt in the front. Canít wait to test it in the morning.

Ouch! Put ESC in Training mode next time (if there is a next time-lol) or do this w/bluetooth if you have one. Bluetooth & Traxxas app lets you dial full throttle down to a crawl so when wife, kids, etc. punch it, it will just crawl along - lol!

Yes I have the Bluetooth but Iíll never turn it down. The best way for them to learn is with full throttle. Yes things are going to break, but 1/2 of the fun is fixing and upgrading. My 3 year old drives my Maxx all the time, and my 10 year olds rustler is set up for 90mph speed runs.
