E-Revo 2.0 motor is dead...

Good morning all. Well, I just burnt my motor ... The rotor magnet is broken, it smells like it's burnt out, it's all black, direction trash...

Which motor do you recommend to replace it ? I want to keep my Traxxas ESC, is this possible? If this is not possible then I would take a Velineon motor as originally.

Pretty much any 6s capable motor should work with the Traxxas ESC. You can send that motor back and get it replaced for around $70-75, which is cheaper than most aftermarket motors, so that's an option.

Hello and thank you for your answer.
In fact I would prefer not to take back a Velineon engine, apparently there is a lot of this kind of breakage on it.

I just installed a TP Power motor in mine. $108 usd and the rotor is 4mm longer. Can't tell of a power difference though. The 4040 series is actually a couple mm shorter at 73 and doesn't have heatsink fins. But, it definitely runs cooler. Geared to 50mph on both, the vxl2200kv draws 100 amps and runs around the same temp as the esc with my fans. The TP motor draws 90 amps and runs 20f cooler than the esc. I did have to drill out the motor mount to accept m4x.7 (8mm) screws. It has was more cogging torque and the bearings are really good... the vxl bearings have so much play.

Thank's for your help ! I think I will test the Konect 2200Kv, apparently it is Hobbywing which manufactures them (marked on the box). Or if I can find it here in France or in Germany I might take the Hobbywing 4274-SL...
On the other hand, there is obviously no sensor on these engines, is it annoying ?

The stock motor isn't sensored either, but what the ESC does is read the back emf on the unused phase as the rotor passes it; so the ESC does know where the rotor is once spinning.

It should act like stock depending on the rotor's magnet configuration (staggered vs standard) and winding type.
